Security and privacy

Kio only knows what you let it know.

Your documents are the most sensitive thing you will give us. Here is, in plain words, how Askio keeps them yours.

Each organisation kept apart

Separation is enforced by rules inside the database itself, so even a mistake in the app cannot show one company's data to another. Kio never compares your content with another customer's.

A password alone never opens Askio

Every sign-in needs your password and a one-time code sent to your work email. One sign-in covers both products.

You decide who sees what

Your administrators choose who uses each product and module, and which teams and departments can open each document. Kio answers each person only from what they may open.

Support only when you ask

Our team can only look inside your workspace during a support session your administrator starts. It is read-only, clearly shown on screen, and your administrator can end it at any time.

A full history

Sign-ins, shares, access changes and admin actions are recorded, so you can always answer "who had access, and when?"

Encrypted on the way and at rest

Every connection to Askio uses HTTPS, and stored files and data are encrypted.

Questions security teams ask us

Is our content used to train AI models?

No. Kio sends only the parts of your content needed for a request to our AI provider through its business API, which does not use that content to train its models. We never use one customer's content for another.

Where is our data stored?

Your documents and account data are kept in an enterprise-grade managed cloud database, encrypted at rest and in transit, with each organisation separated by rules inside the database itself. The application runs on servers we manage. We can confirm the hosting region and give your security team our full list of service providers on request.

Can we use our own AI key?

Yes. Administrators can add their organisation's own AI provider key in settings.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You can ask us to export or delete your organisation's data. Email info@askio.me and we will confirm when it is done.

How do we report a security concern?

Email info@askio.me with "Security" in the subject line. We reply to every report.

Need more detail for your review?

We will walk your security team through how Askio is built.
