Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Askio collects when you use askio.me, Askio Knowledge and Askio Studio, and what we do with it.
1. Who we are
Askio provides askio.me, Askio Knowledge and Askio Studio. Askio is in the process of registering as a company. Our registered details will be published here once that is complete. For anything about your privacy, email info@askio.me.
When your organisation uses Askio, your organisation decides what content goes in and who can see it. For that content, your organisation is the responsible party and we process it on its instructions.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, work email, organisation and role.
- Content: documents, brand settings, briefs and drafts your organisation adds.
- Activity records: sign-ins, shares and admin changes, kept for security.
- Demo requests: the details you send us through "Talk to us".
- Connected accounts: if you connect LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram to publish, the access those platforms give us.
3. How we use it
To provide the service, keep accounts secure, send sign-in codes and service emails, answer support requests and reply to demo requests. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
4. AI and your content
To answer a question or write a draft, Kio sends only the relevant parts of your content to an AI provider through its business API and returns the result to you. That provider does not use it to train its models. Your content is never used to compare you with, or shown to, another organisation.
6. Where it is stored
Your documents and account data are kept in an enterprise-grade managed cloud database, encrypted at rest and in transit, with each organisation separated by rules inside the database itself. The application runs on servers we manage. We can confirm the hosting region and give your security team our full list of service providers on request.
7. How long we keep it
For as long as your organisation's account is active. When an account closes, we delete its content within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Security records are kept for 12 months. Demo requests are kept only as long as we need to follow up.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other laws that apply to you. Email info@askio.me. If your organisation manages your account, we may pass your request to its administrator. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
10. Contact and changes
Questions about this policy: info@askio.me. If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell account administrators before it takes effect.
